Erika Brown

In her career, Erika has worked on a wide spectrum of clients, from sneakers (Reebok) to supercomputers (Thinking Machines Corp.) and everything in between. Along the way, this former journalist learned how strong brands behave, which is important in todays media world where content is king, consumer feedback is immediate, and anyone can be an industry pundit.

She started Cercone Brown in 2001 with Len Cercone with a vision that senior people should always work on client business, that cultures are what drive brands, and that big ideas really can change the landscape.

Len Cercone

Since the late 1980s, Len has been helping folks gain attention for the brands, bands or causes. After relentless promotions of his own music career became obviously pointless (he was the last to know), Len brought his youngest-of-six-kids attitude to the agency world. Working first for exclusively nonprofit clients, including the Walk for Hunger and Boston Childrens Service, then later on top brands ranging from adidas to EMC2, Len has been in the business for 20 years and counting.

Its his view that every product exists in a culture. That every culture has a handshake. A unique belief system. Navigate that culture and you can grow a brand, often dramatically.

Len has combined his passion for business and the environment to launch his blog, Eco Optimism: A Business Survival Guide to the New Social, Economic and Environmental Order, filled with thought-provoking entries, as well as marketing and PR tips. He also just released a whitepaper on these views, entitled Simplinomics, available for free download on our site.
