I think it's a positive thing that the FTC is spelling out some ethical guidelines, though as you point out, many of the smart companies and individual bloggers are doing this already. But thanks for pointing out the importance of listening and monitoring; the clearer the guidelines get for participation in the social web, the more business will need to pay close attention to the dialogue.
